San Diego County Supervisors to Review Options for Transit Policy This Fall
San Diego County Supervisors plan to review options for transit policy this fall, according to the Times of San Diego.
The San Diego Association of Governments is currently developing a regional transportation plan for the county, which includes recommendations for improving public transit. The County Board of Supervisors is set to review these recommendations in the coming months.
Supervisor Nathan Fletcher told the Times of San Diego that the county is at a critical juncture when it comes to transit policy, and that it is important to consider a variety of options to address the county’s transportation needs.
Some of the options that will be considered include expanding public transit options, improving infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians, and potentially implementing congestion pricing in certain areas to reduce traffic congestion.
The county has already made some strides in improving public transit, such as investing in electric buses and expanding the trolley system. However, there is still more work to be done to create a comprehensive and efficient transit system for the region.
The County Board of Supervisors will continue to work with SANDAG to develop a transit policy that meets the needs of residents and visitors in San Diego County.
